Terms of use and disclaimer
Last updated 20 October 2026.
In short: Free-SchoolAI is free, provided as is, with no warranty and no support. It is not professional advice. Your school decides whether and how to use it, is responsible for that use and for every draft, and accepts the risk. To the fullest extent the law allows, Joshua Mangas accepts no liability.
Who this is from, and agreeing to these terms
Free-SchoolAI is a free set of prompt templates and a static web page, made available by Joshua Mangas free of charge under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0).
By using, downloading, installing or sharing Free-SchoolAI, you agree to these terms. If you do so for a school, trust or other organisation, you confirm you have authority to accept them on its behalf, and "you" means that organisation. If you do not agree, do not use it.
1. Provided as is
Free-SchoolAI is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties, conditions or representations of any kind, whether express or implied, including any about accuracy, completeness, being up to date, fitness for a particular purpose, security, or being free of errors or defects.
2. Not advice
Nothing in Free-SchoolAI is legal, safeguarding, data protection, HR, employment, medical, financial, inspection, examination, educational or other professional advice, and it must not be relied on as such.
Guidance, frameworks and dates named in a prompt may have been changed or replaced. Always check the current official guidance and take professional advice where you need it.
3. Your decision and your responsibility
You alone decide whether and how to use Free-SchoolAI, and you are solely responsible for that use. That includes: choosing, approving and configuring any AI tool; carrying out any data protection impact assessment and complying with data protection law, including the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018; meeting your safeguarding, equality, employment, record-keeping and other legal duties; deciding what staff may paste into any tool; training and supervising staff; and reading, checking, correcting and approving every draft before it is sent, published, filed, relied on or used in a meeting.
Jobs marked Record can become pupil, staff or legal records. They must only be used in a tool your organisation has approved for that purpose, and the person who owns the record remains responsible for it.
4. AI tools and their output
A prompt cannot control what an AI tool produces. Output can be wrong, incomplete, out of date, biased, inappropriate or invented. Joshua Mangas does not provide, operate or control any AI tool and is not responsible for any tool, its output, its availability, or how its provider handles your data. Your use of any AI tool is governed by your agreement with its provider.
5. Installing it on your systems
If you download Free-SchoolAI or install it on your own systems, you are responsible for reviewing the files before use, and for hosting, configuring, securing, maintaining, updating and removing them, and for any settings or prompts you add.
6. No support and no guarantee of availability
There is no obligation to provide support, maintenance, updates or fixes, to answer questions, or to keep this website, the files or any download available. Any of them may change or be withdrawn at any time without notice.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Joshua Mangas will not be liable to you or anyone else for any loss, damage, cost or claim of any kind, whether direct, indirect or consequential, and whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise, arising out of or in connection with Free-SchoolAI, its use or inability to use it, or any output produced with it. This includes, without limitation, loss of or damage to data, loss of profit, revenue or savings, regulatory fines or penalties, reputational harm, and claims by pupils, parents, staff or other third parties.
You agree to use Free-SchoolAI at your own risk, and to indemnify Joshua Mangas against any claim brought by a third party arising from your use of it or of any output produced with it.
8. What these terms do not exclude
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law of England and Wales, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
9. The licence
The prompt text is licensed under CC BY 4.0, including its Section 5 disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability, which applies alongside these terms. You may use, adapt and share it if you keep the credit: Free-SchoolAI by Joshua Mangas.
10. Not affiliated
Free-SchoolAI is independent. It is not connected with or endorsed by the Department for Education, Ofsted, any awarding body, local authority or diocese, or any AI provider, and it is not the DfE free school programme or the commercial product SchoolAI. Product names are used only to describe where the library can run, and belong to their owners.
11. General
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms may be updated at any time; the version on this page applies from the date shown. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
